Health Tip: Stroke Warning Signs
(HealthDay News) -- Stroke is the fifth leading cause of death and a leading cause of disability in the United States, says the American Stroke Association.
The association mentions these warning signs:
Face drooping. Is the person's smile uneven or lopsided?
Arm weakness. Is one arm weak or numb?
Speech. Is speech slurred or hard to understand?
Additional symptoms of stroke include sudden numbness, confusion, trouble seeing, difficulty walking and severe headache. Call 9-1-1 immediately if someone shows any of these symptoms.
